This project entails the creation of a temporary architectural structure situated in Eisenhower Park, Long Island. Professor Quin was commissioned to develop an enclosed space that serves as a gift shop, complete with efficient shelving systems. The primary objective is to construct a structure that can be swiftly assembled and disassembled, minimizing labor costs. Various concepts were explored during the design phase, including wood structures, shipping containers, and pre-fabricated steel structures. Ultimately, the chosen design features steel tubes covered with a vinyl membrane, which offers the advantages of easy transportation, assembly, and maintenance. The shelving systems are expertly fabricated at the SJSW workshop, then transported to the site for assembly.
