The staff at St. Joseph Studio Workshop has extensive experience working with community organizations producing design solutions that respond to their needs. Each project is approached as a partnership. Projects vary in size from furniture and exhibition design, to community centers, multiple dwelling housing and neighborhood development plans. All projects start off with a design problem defined by the client or client group. Through a workshop process, we work with the client to understand the problem, identify critical concerns, understand expectations, define, criteria, explore possibilities, test ideas, propose a solution. Below is a sample of some past projects and current projects in various stages of development. Only projects where primary authorship belongs to a SJSW staff member are included, credit is given to the place where the work was completed, collaborators, partners and clients. Buildings are too complex for one person to take credit, ints always a collaboration, and we love to give credit where credit is due.
